Didim’de yaşayan yabancıların kurduğu, 232 üye sayısına sahip “Plogging in Didim” grup üyeleri Hisar mahallesi İmbat sitesi bölgesinde sahil şeridinde çevre temizliği gerçekleştirdi.
Didim Belediyesi, Temizlik İşleri Müdürü Mustafa Çark ve belediye personeli ile grup üyeleri kıyı şeridinde bulunan plastik ve cam şişe, misina ağları, katı atıklarından oluşan 17 torba çöp topladı.
Didim'in farklı noktalarında sık sık bu tür etkinlikler ile adını duyuran grubun Üyesi olan Nurhan Ebil Gürasma "Teşekkürler Anne Baxter güzel bir havada, iyi bir çalışma oldu. Yeni belediye temizlik işleri müdürümüz ile tanıştık ve o da bizimle beraber çalıştı. Emeği geçen herkese teşekkürler" diyerek etkinlikte bulunmaktan memnun olduğunu söyledi.
Didim genelinde birçok koyda değişik yer ve zamanlarda temizlik çalışması gerçekleştiren “Plogging in Didim” grubu üyeleri Didim sahillerinin temiz bırakılması noktasında, grup üyeleri adına, herkesi duyarlı olmaya davet eden Anne Baxter "Mustafa Bey ve ekibinin de katıldığı bugünkü etkinliğimiz İmbat Koyu'ndaydı. Kendisi Belediye'nin temizlik departmanının yeni müdürü, dolayısıyla grubumuzun yaptığı iyi işleri ona göstermek için onu görmek güzeldi. Biz 18 kişi ve Belediye personelleri ile birlikte, başta olta ipi, şişeler, teneke kutular ve plastik olmak üzere 17 torbanın yanı sıra birkaç lastik ve bir sandalye topladık. Her zamanki gibi harika iş çıkardık" diyerek Didim Belediyesi Temizlik İşleri Müdürüne ve ekibine, ayriyeten manevi destek vermeye gelen Jackie'nin köpeği Betty'ye de teşekkürler diyerek memnuniyetini dile getirdi.

"Foreign Residents Clean Up Didim Beaches in 'Plogging' Initiative"
Members of the 'Plogging in Didim' group, founded by foreigners residing in Didim, conducted a beach cleanup. The group, boasting a membership of 232 individuals, undertook the environmental initiative along the coastal strip near the Hisar neighborhood's İmbat site area.
Mustafa Çark, the manager of the Cleaning Affairs Department of Didim Municipality, together with municipal staff and group members, collected 17 bags of waste. This waste consisted mainly of plastic and glass bottles, fishing nets, and other solid refuse scattered along the shoreline.
Nurhan Ebil Gürasma, a member of the 'Plogging in Didim' group, expressed her contentment with the activity: "Thanks to Anne Baxter for a beautiful day and a good effort. We met our new municipal cleaning affairs manager, and he worked alongside us. Thanks to everyone who contributed."
Anne Baxter, another group member, called for community sensitivity to keeping the Didim beaches clean. The group often conducts cleanups in various coves across Didim. Speaking about the event, Baxter said, "Today's activity was at İmbat Cove with Mustafa Bey and his team. He is the new director of the cleaning department of the municipality, so it was lovely to show him the good work our group does. Together with 18 people and municipal staff, we collected 17 bags of debris including fishing lines, bottles, cans, plastics, a few tires, and a chair. As always, we did a great job." Baxter also thanked the Cleaning Affairs Department of Didim Municipality, the director, and their team, as well as giving a special mention to Jackie's dog, Betty, for moral support during the event.
